Description
We will start the day paying a visit to the central fish market where people from the sea and the mountain gather early in the morning to sell their catch. We will choose our fresh fish to buy and grill on the beach. Then we will drive through a panoramic road to reach the top of Jabal al Qamar (the mountain of the moon). We will stop to see the purest frankincense threes in their natural habitat. We will descend the mountain to reach the spectacular beach of Fazayah between vertical cliffs and the Arabian Sea. Here we will spend a relaxing day with a fabulous BBQ. On the way back we will stop by the spectacular beach of Mughsail and walk over the submarine Marneef Cave where waves can blow through vertical erosions creating false geysers up to 20 meters high.
Route
The route starts from the center of Salalah, the central market, and crosses the city industrial area, by the Port of Salalah, to enter the “Mountain of the Moon”, and descend the track to Fazayah beach. Photo-stop to Marneef Cave.
